THE Y HOUSE

Portugal based SousaSantos Architects designed the Y House.

This house is a vision device. A system that rules the way the inhabitant sees the outside world and simultaneously frames the way the outside sees the dwellers. The design of this object was focused on this theme. The big curved window is this statement vortex, it creates a visual path that, like a camera traveling, reveal the image of the landscape.

The programmatic development of the house reflects the classic bourgeois organization promoting the clear division of rest areas leisure areas and work areas. This division creates tree limbs that are united by this design morphing that develop the two big windows of the living room.

The idea of landscape as an image and its importance in the domestic living were the main design focus of this scheme.

NIKE - BLAZER HIGH PREMIUM - SELVAGE DENIM

Started to drop in international doors last month but have slowly started to hit US base retailers now so look out for them at your local Nike dealers. The raw selvage denim is two-toned in a darker and lighter version with contrast stitching to mimic that of premium denim. Also notice the brown Nike emblem on the heel that mimics the hem stitch on a fresh pair of jeans. Other details include the white and red selvage piping (also seen in the picture on the jean cuffs) and a Levis-esque Nike tag in white and red. I personally think these shoes are dope.

RSVP GALLERY

RSVP serves as a boutique/art gallery that displays and sells pop art and design from around the world. Short for Résponde si vous plez or please respond, the store’s name is an invitation for guests to not only visit the space, but participate, get inspired, and respond.

Bars of green neon line RSVP’s black painted ceiling while exposed brick walls display giant neon art pieces commissioned by RSVP – all channeling the store’s design concept of pairing pop art with luxury. Using minimalism and raw space, RSVP takes the look of a pop art gallery, with its merchandise as the featured pieces.

The RSVP decor is taken from The RSVP Private Collection of works from artists including Mark Newson, Stephen Sprouse, Jeff Koons, Takashi Murakami, Kaws and NoPattern. RSVP offers pieces from premium brands including Kaikai Kiki, Ambush, Dee & Ricky, Super, PLAY Comme des Garcons, Rizzoli, Original Fake, G-Shock, Incase and Boxed Water. RSVP also has a selection of rare, original, vintage items from Louis Vuitton, Chanel, A Bathing Ape, Nike and Levi Strauss & Co.

LEATHERMAN 'WRATH' 2083 CONCEPT

The Wrath concept has us thinking, which is something quite unusual for us to do. Will the present be considered “retro” in the future? Or will retro remain retro and present be something else? Whatever the case, this “future modern retro” chopper for the year 2083 will rule streets in an age when everything is completely controlled by computers and electronics, which should be entirely possible considering the current rate of global development.
