Goodie Mob Covers Creative Loafing
“…I’ll stab a nigga for y’all man, for real.”
In anticipation of their upcoming reunion show, Goodie Mob graces the cover of Creative Loafing Atlanta, and Maurice Garland gets to fulfill his journalistic destiny. The resulting story is as much about the city of Atlanta and its social and musical transformation over the past decade, as it is about the group that helped spark that revolution.
“We’re coming back into the game at the same time that we entered the game,” says Gipp. “We’re needed. It’s surreal, but we know we got a job to do. That job, at the end of the day, is to let people know we still stand on the principles we did when we entered the game. That’s to push the boundaries and tell the truth.”
